Recycling

Small businesses should recycle for several reasons including environmental responsibility, costs savings, and customer appeal. Recycling helps to reduce waste, conserve resources, and minimize pollution, which is essential for maintaining a sustainable future. By recycling, small businesses can also save money on disposal costs and reduce the need to purchase new material. In order to pledge to this sustainability action, businesses must put out recycling bins as options to customers and employees and make an effort to recycle a significant amount of their waste.

Reduce Electricity Usage

It is beneficial for a company to reduce electricity usage for many reasons including economic efficiency, environmental impact, brand reputation, and even employee comfort. Businesses can pledge to this by doing one of the following: switch off electronics when not in use, take advantage of natural lighting, use energy efficient equipment, or adjust thermostat settings so heating and cooling is not running unnecessarily.

Reduce Water Usage

Water overuse disturbs the natural flow of the environment, especially in places like Crozet that are located next to national parks and nature trails, By disturbing the natural water cycle, we are effecting our wetlands, biodiversity, and entire ecosystems.
